Step 1: Gather your washing machine, dirty laundry, washing powder or tablets, and fabric softener.
Step 2: Separate your laundry into coloreds and whites.
Step 3: Load your chosen pile of laundry into the machine, but don't overload it.
Step 4: Add your cleaning products. The smallest compartment is for the fabric conditioner and the largest is for the washing powder. If you have liquid tablets, they need to go in the washing machine drum underneath all the clothes.
Step 5: Choose your temperature. If you have delicates in your load, set your washing machine to a low temperature. If you have colorfast cotton that are stained badly and have been washed plenty of times, you can set to a higher heat between 60 and 90 degrees. However, it's preferable to be eco-friendly, so unless your clothes are really dirty, set to a lower heat. Step 6: Unload your clothes when the cycle is finished. The door will remain locked for a few minutes. Don't force it open. When it unlocks, open the door and remove the clothes. Put them on the washing line or in the tumble dryer.
