This case study involves a patient with a history of respiratory and neurological issues, including asthma and seizures. The patient, who lives with her mother and son, has a medical history of a rib injury and anxiety, and was previously admitted to a neurosurgical ward. Currently admitted to the respiratory ward due to breathing difficulties, the patient is on medications such as Paracetamol, Gabapentin, Topiramate, Morphine, and Pregabalin. A CT scan showed a previously broken rib cage, and the patient experienced seizures during her stay, which were not controlled by prescribed medication. Regular seizures necessitated continuous monitoring, and a meeting was held to assess the authenticity of the seizures. The patient was referred back to the neurosurgical ward for further evaluation. The case highlights the complexity of managing patients with both respiratory and neurological symptoms and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach.
